Sand and Screening

We provide the screening sand material for your project. Whether it’s for pavers or turf we know what material you will need.

When considering which Screening to use it is helpful to know how each one performs. Lime Rock Screening will compact the best but is the least water permeable. It is not recommended to place Lime Rock Screening in low areas that may have standing water for extended periods. The Lime Rock may breakdown and leach through the cracks in the pavers.

Concrete Screenings has good compaction and is more permeable.

Shell Fines has the best permeability but does not compact as well as Concrete Screenings or Lime Rock Screening. Fine Shell Screening is also excellent for parking lots use all by itself.

Keep in mind when using as a Base for Pavers, Patio Stone Etc. we recommend 1/2” of Diamond Sand on top of the Screening Material.

Concrete Sand is coarse sand containing some minor aggregate. It is most commonly used in cement mixtures for concrete and as a joint filling substance for paving stones. Rock Screenings are used as a leveling agent for under pavers.
